Swindon Property is proud to announce it has received a Five Star Award from the International Property Awards and has been named the "Best property agency and consultancy in South Africa" in the African and Arabian division (2022 - 2023). The awards celebrate the highest levels of achievement by companies operating in all sectors of the property and real estate industry and is a world-renowned mark of excellence. Only industry leading projects and companies are invited to participate with a maximum of five entries per country in each category competing for each title.
Swindon presented an impressive portfolio of achievements accumulated over the past two years which were judged according to their quality, service, innovation, originality, and commitment to sustainability. These included the launch of their auction division - an online auction platform focused purely on the commercial and industrial space in South Africa, as well as the launch of their property management division. Further milestones included the expansion into sub-Saharan Africa, with the addition of Swindon Nigeria into the group and the celebration of long service awards for several of their senior brokers who have been with the company for over 10 years. Given the significant obstacles the commercial property sector has faced over recent years, this is a noteworthy achievement. Swindon also implemented a community drive with We Think Code and Vheneka during the pandemic to assist the vulnerable. Most recently Swindon extended their outreach, partnering with Souper Troopers (an NPO supporting the rehabilitation of the homeless) where they donated the building housing the "Humanitarian Hub" in Woodstock.
"We are extremely proud of the loyalty and commitment of our long-standing brokers and this award is for all of them. Thanks to their passion and commitment we've been able to bounce back despite the challenges we've faced over the past two years. Despite this we have continued to close significant deals for our clients across the country, with transactions which contributed towards the award being the sale of 'The Waldorf', and the 'Rubicon' development, both in Cape Town." Says Andrew Dewey, Managing Director of Swindon Property.
The Waldorf sale which was facilitated by Dewey is a 12-storey building with views of the busy Green Market Square and the iconic Table Mountain which was sold as an investment and future development opportunity, while the Rubicon Development was facilitated by Marcus te Vaarwerk, one of the company's Directors. This project began in 2020 and after many roadblocks was completed this year. Rubicon is a company focused on transformative technology and energy solutions and chose this 9832m² facility in one of Cape Town's premier mixed-use parks, Richmond Park, where development is being rolled-out by Atterbury Property on behalf of the various shareholders.
